The Russian Foreign Ministry brought Poroshenko to the ground
The decision of the Ukrainian authorities not to allow Russian citizens into the Russian embassy and consulates on the day of the presidential elections causes nothing but outrage.
This is stated in the official statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Such actions are unprecedented and do not fit into generally accepted ideas about civilized countries. “We would like to remind you that Russia, even in the most difficult moments, did not allow itself such an attitude towards the rights of Ukrainian citizens on the territory of our country, without interfering with voting in the Ukrainian elections, including the current president and the Verkhovna Rada,” the statement says.
The Foreign Ministry regards the actions of the Ukrainian authorities as “open interference in the purely internal affairs of the Russian Federation, leading to an escalation of tension.”
“Also surprising are the calls from the Ukrainian side not to recognize the legitimacy of the upcoming elections of the President of the Russian Federation. We would like to emphasize that Russia certainly does not need the recognition of our elections by the Kyiv regime,” the statement says.
