Russian Foreign Ministry: The United States is imposing its will on Yanukovych, there are extremists and anti-Semites on the Maidan
Moscow - Kyiv, February 17 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday twice officially mentioned and commented on the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, accusing the United States of imposing its will on official Kiev, and the protesters on the Maidan of extremist and anti-Semitic sentiments.

“Once again, we note that the United States, hiding behind calls not to interfere with the free choice of the people of Ukraine, is in fact trying to impose the “Western vector” of its development as the “only correct” one, dictating to the authorities of a sovereign country how and what they should do... In particular, from Kiev is demanded to stop any investigative actions against participants in the recent riots and immediately begin “forming a multi-party technical government.” At the same time, the “casting” of future posts in it, as far as one can judge from the audio recording recently posted on YouTube, the American side began ahead of time. What such activity leads to is well known from recent historical examples,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also mentioned the events in Kyiv at a press conference, condemning the glorification of protest participants.
“Look at how pictures from Ukraine are shown in Western media today. Everything is very good: peaceful oppositionists demand justice and order, and the “brutal” authorities suppress them by force. In fact, a huge number of facts are being revealed about what is happening in this state. In this regard, I would like to remind my colleagues that there are Russian television channels, including Russian-, English- and Arabic-language ones, which show in detail what kind of extremist, including anti-Semitic, forces the Ukrainian authorities and the opposition are now facing. Unfortunately, this process is being hushed up,” Lavrov said.
