The Russian Foreign Ministry returned Zelensky’s papers on Crimea to Kyiv
The Russian Foreign Ministry returned to the Ukrainian side a note of protest from Kyiv regarding yesterday's participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin in military exercises off the coast of Crimea.
“The Russian Foreign Ministry received another note of protest from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. This time - in connection with the visit on January 9 this year. President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin held exercises of the Northern and Black Sea fleets of Russia in Crimea.
This note, like other requests of this kind received by us, was returned by the Russian Foreign Ministry to the Ukrainian side without consideration due to the lack of grounds for protest.
We remind you that the President of Russia and other Russian officials should not coordinate their trips to constituent entities of the Russian Federation with foreign states. This fully applies to the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol.
We call on the Ukrainian side to finally accept the reality that Crimea and Sevastopol belong to the Russian Federation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
