Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström stated this in an interview with Kommersant.
“Both sides are now looking for a scapegoat: you talk to the Russians - they say one thing, with the Ukrainians - another. Both of them accuse each other of non-fulfillment of the Minsk agreements. It is clear that our sanctions are related to how you implement the Minsk agreements. The preconditions for lifting sanctions are very clear,” said the head of the Swedish Foreign Ministry.
The publication clarified: what to do if the implementation of the agreements is slowed down by the Ukrainian side?
“Then we need to put pressure on both sides,” says Wallström. – Both Ukrainians and Russians. Because in this whole story there is an element of political will. You need to want peace, you need to want to stop the violence and move forward.”
In turn, the President of the Russian Federation, as PolitNavigator reported, explained why Russia cannot fulfill the Minsk agreements.
Let us recall that the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the leadership of the DPR and LPR was recognized signing of the Minsk agreements.
