The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry fired the anti-Semitic consul exposed by Shariy
Based on the results of the investigation, the Disciplinary Commission for the consideration of disciplinary cases of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine decided to dismiss the Consul of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Hamburg Vasily Marushchinets, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the department.
“It has been established that the actions of V.I. Marushchinets are regarded as a violation of the oath of a civil servant, the rules of ethical conduct of civil servants, and damage the authority of the civil service, and are also incompatible with diplomatic activities and the principles of civil service. In this regard, we propose to apply a disciplinary sanction to him in the form of dismissal from his position,” the commission’s conclusion says.
The order to dismiss V.I. Marushchinets from his position and diplomatic service was issued on May 30, 2018.
As noted, a copy of the disciplinary case and the results of the official investigation, the high-profile actions of which may contain signs of a criminal offense (inciting ethnic hatred), will be transferred for further legal assessment to law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine opened disciplinary proceedings due to information about anti-Semitic statements by the Ukrainian Consul in Hamburg Vasyl Marushchints.
The reason for starting the investigation was a statement by blogger Anatoly Shariy, who said that an employee of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Hamburg, Vasily Marushchinets, posts anti-Semitic publications on his Facebook page.
