The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced victory in the “great battle for borscht”
Proving that borscht is an original Ukrainian dish is also a kind of “soft power” that should popularize Ukraine abroad.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are putting together a very beautiful, accessible picture of Ukraine that people beyond Ukraine’s borders can see, including the great battle for borscht, which Ukraine is now winning. And it can subsequently have the result of the best promotion of Ukrainian cuisine, Ukrainian cooking abroad.
That is, many interesting things are now happening within the framework of such a concept as soft power in Ukraine. What is meant is that all this will disappear if all these pieces of the big mosaic are not put together, then all these rivers, big and small, will not flow and will not bring their waters to a single big river. This is a single path to success and in order to improve Ukraine’s place in the global soft power,” Kuleba said.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier as part of struggle for inclusion of borscht in the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List as an exclusively “Ukrainian dish”, an event was held in Kyiv about the culture of its preparation.
