The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry confirmed the refusal of Sevastopol
The information campaign launched by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Facebook to mark the sixth anniversary of Kiev’s loss of control over Crimea turned into a scandal. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry invited Facebook users to install a “frame” for their photo on the social network with a picture of the peninsula. However, the drawing of Crimea turned out to be inaccurate - the part occupied by Sevastopol is missing.
The former fake “representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea” Boris Babin pointed out this fact in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Babin called this a “Freudian” mistake, recalling how last year the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky did not indicate Sevastopol when introducing draft amendments to the Constitution of the country.
The scandal with the incorrect depiction of Crimea may have another underlying reason - in Kyiv it is widely believed that in 2014, if Ukraine had begun to resist Russia on the peninsula, it could only be satisfied with the return of Sevastopol as the main base of the Black Sea Fleet.
