Ukrainian Foreign Ministry quarreled with Bangladesh over scammers
The Ukrainian Embassy in India sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh in connection with the detention of Ukrainian citizens, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the Deputy Director of the Consular Service Department - Head of the Consular Support Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vasily Kirilich.
“In connection with the detention of Ukrainian citizens in Bangladesh, the Ukrainian Embassy in India immediately sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh with a request to explain the reason for the detention and report on the conditions of detention and the state of health of the detainees. A meeting of Embassy diplomats at the Bangladesh Embassy in Delhi is scheduled for June 10 to obtain information on the case,” the source said.
According to him, the Ukrainian consul is currently preparing for a business trip to Bangladesh with the aim of visiting the detention facility for Ukrainian citizens, as well as holding meetings with the competent authorities of the country.
“The Ukrainian Embassy is in contact with the detainees’ lawyer and relatives. This case is under the control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Ukraine in India,” added the Deputy Director of the Consular Service Department.
Earlier this week, local media reported that six Ukrainian citizens were detained in Bangladesh for fraud.
