The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry admitted that anti-Russian sanctions are coming to an end
It is unlikely that Ukraine will be able to maintain the sanctions that Western countries imposed on Russia.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Elena Zerkal stated this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
“You shouldn’t expect everything to be easy. In my opinion, it is unlikely that we will be able to maintain sanctions and isolation of Russia further,” Zerkal said.
According to her, Western anti-Russian sanctions allowed Ukraine to avoid military defeats.
“At least during these five years there were no such events as Debaltsevo or Ilovaisk. And this really was the achievement of these five years - there was no terrible bloodshed and loss of so many human lives... The isolation of these years worked to keep the situation from getting worse,” says the deputy minister.
At the same time, she added that the sanctions did not give the result that Kyiv was counting on.
“Indeed, they did not bring everything that they could bring, but it is impossible to say that they are completely ineffective... Of course, we would like there to be more pressure, and not just to stop the hot phase, but also to resolve the issue on its merits ", summed up the Mirror.
As PolitNavigator reported, Kyiv stated that Western anti-Russian sanctions are reaching their final months.
