The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spilled the beans: 95% of the agreement with the EU is related to future NATO membership

Ukraine's association agreement with the European Union, which sparked the conflict in the former Soviet republic, contains 95% of the provisions required for NATO membership.
Konstantin Eliseev, Ukraine’s representative to the EU, stated this at the Kiev security forum.

“I want to say that in defending the European agenda we are moving closer to NATO. 95% of the obligations associated with NATO membership are reflected in our association agreement,” he said.
Elisev added that the issue of integration into the EU and NATO is inseparable.
“I see NATO as my father and the EU as my mother,” he said, adding that “NATO is our physical defense.”
