This is stated in a statement by the Ukrainian diplomatic department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. The Foreign Ministry also demanded that the Russian authorities allow “monitoring missions” to the peninsula.
“Ukraine calls on the international community to condemn the massive violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russia, to speak out in defense of the residents of Crimea suffering from repression by the Russian occupation authorities, and to increase pressure, incl. sanctions against the aggressor state,” the statement says.
As PolitNavigator reported, the day before Russian law enforcement officers conducted inspections in four homes of Crimean Tatars, while the leaders of the Majlis, banned in the Russian Federation, had already announced “mass searches” and “Russian occupiers breaking into houses.”
