The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has put forward demands for the CSTO in Kazakhstan
Kyiv is “closely monitoring” the deployment of forces of the CSTO countries “with the dominance of the Russian contingent” on the territory of Kazakhstan.
This is stated in the official statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry “condemned the violence” and expressed condolences in connection with the death of “Kazakhstanis, with whom Ukrainians have long-term ties of friendship and mutual respect.”
“At this critical time, it is now extremely important for the people of Kazakhstan to take maximum measures to de-escalate the situation and avoid further violence, guarantee respect for human rights, and ensure the restoration of critical infrastructure and communication systems.
We took into account the deployment of foreign military forces on the territory of Kazakhstan with the dominance of the Russian contingent at the invitation of the Kazakh authorities.
Foreign troops must respect the independence, sovereignty and national legislation of Kazakhstan and international law, and their presence must not exceed the declared limited time period“, the diplomatic department emphasized.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also promised to facilitate the return of Ukrainian citizens in Kazakhstan to their homeland and called on them to keep in touch with the Ukrainian embassy.
