The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is thinking about officially recognizing the separatists
In Ukraine, they do not rule out recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo”, which, according to the Constitution of Serbia, is part of this country as the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Zerkal stated this on Channel 5, owned by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the official, this is due to Serbia’s “unfriendly” attitude towards Ukraine.
“We continue not to recognize Kosovo. Although we understand that from a humanitarian point of view it would be necessary to recognize this. And because the Serbs generally do not behave very friendly towards Ukraine on various platforms,” Zerkal said.
Let us remember that Serbia is a state friendly to Russia and has refused to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation.
