The Russian Foreign Ministry was asked to hire lawyers in Brazil to protect victims of Bandera in Ukraine
Since many of the political prisoners in Ukraine are representatives of communist organizations and parties, to protect the prisoners, Moscow must involve left-wing forces in non-CIS countries.
The chairman of the Union of Political Emigrants and Political Prisoners of Ukraine Larisa Shesler stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Left communist organizations also need to be involved. We know that a very large part of political prisoners are representatives of leftist movements: the Communist Party of Ukraine, the Union of Left Forces, and so on. And, in fact, representatives of leftist movements in Ukraine are among the most important targets and victims of Ukrainian repression.
If we now involve Brazil, where the left plays a prominent role, the Italian left, so that they join in the struggle for the liberation of people who are persecuted purely for political reasons, I think it will have an effect,” Shesler said.
She emphasized that the Russian Foreign Ministry should involve lawyers from friendly or neutral states in its work.
“In addition, we need to provide legal support to political prisoners. Under the current situation, it is impossible to pay for lawyers from Russia.
But, if our Foreign Ministry is concerned about cooperation, for example, with the government of Brazil. And he will suggest: “You are leftists, let’s somehow organize the legal defense of leftists in Ukraine.”
And all this will acquire a completely different level of international support. And Ukraine will be forced to introduce some boundaries to the level of political repression. Because now political prisoners are completely powerless and defenseless,” the social activist concluded.
