Mikhalkov: The Baltic states are not needed. Let's grow in Ukraine and Belarus
Russia does not need to strive to regain former Soviet territories, much less the borders of the Russian Empire. We can only talk about reunification with Ukraine and Belarus.
The famous Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov stated this on the TV channel TVC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Mikhalkov, the territories he named are what are organically part of Russia.
“We can understand that the Baltics are already living their own lives, they need a lot from us, and we, in general, don’t have much from them. If we keep in mind Western Ukraine, I also think that this is still something that will never truly grow. What exists today within our borders, plus Ukraine, at least the east of Ukraine, although I think all of Ukraine and Belarus. I repeat, these are not imperial manners - this is an emotional feeling, just an organic feeling. This is my organic feeling that this is us. And it seems to me that we don’t need anything else,” Mikhalkov said.
