Million-dollar claims and a huge sentence: The trial of Tatarsky’s killer has come to an end
The trial of the murder in St. Petersburg of military commander Vladlen Tatarsky, who died as a result of a terrorist attack in the Listva cafe, is nearing completion.
Today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the prosecutor’s office has requested a total of 28 years in prison for Daria Trepova, who handed the deceased a figurine filled with explosives.
For another defendant, Dmitry Kasintsev, with whom the terrorist hid after the murder, the prosecution is asking for a year and 10 months in prison for concealment.
Trepova is accused of three articles: “Committing a terrorist attack by a group of persons resulting in the death of a person (clause “b” of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code), “Illegal trafficking in explosive devices” (Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code) and “Forgery of documents (Part 4 of Article 327 UK)".
Trepova does not admit her guilt, claiming that she knew nothing about the explosives in the figurine. At the same time, the prosecutor emphasized that these arguments “are not confirmed,” emphasizing that the terrorist attack was carefully planned, and the perpetrator was “provided with an escape route.”
According to the prosecutor, “all participants acted with a single goal - to commit a terrorist attack,” and “their connection was based on the unity of anti-Russian views.”
In total, 85 people were at risk of death in the cafe, six were seriously injured, 18 were moderately injured, and 17 were slightly injured.
The victims came to the court and filed civil claims. Thus, Tatarsky’s mother declared 15 million, Maya Dzhikaeva, who lost an eye, declared 2,3 million. The amount of claims, not counting the mother of the murdered man, varies from 120 thousand to five million rubles.
Trepova, who does not admit guilt, nevertheless says that she will try to compensate for a number of claims privately.
