The minimum wage in Ukraine is no longer enough for food and clothing, you have to choose one thing
The increase in the minimum wage in Ukraine to 3200 hryvnia, advertised by the government of Vladimir Groysman, no longer provides even the most basic needs of the population due to the continuing rise in food prices. In fact, Ukrainian citizens need to choose - either remain without food, or not buy clothes or not pay for utilities.
The head of the Ukrainian Association of Retail Chain Suppliers, Alexey Doroshenko, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“According to our data, the cost of food in the minimum consumer basket was 1100 hryvnia around January, and today it should already be about 1250 hryvnia. Naturally, at the same time, you should already throw out clothes from your basket that you need to buy, albeit rarely, even at a minimal price. Now, excuse me, you already have to be left without clothes to eat. Or don’t pay rent, don’t pay utilities. Therefore, in this case, the minimum consumer basket today, unfortunately, is no longer provided, and since we are talking about the fact that the growth of products is slowly but continues, accordingly, the functions of the minimum consumer basket remain purely nominal,” the expert said.
