This was reported by the acting Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun, reports LIGA.net.
“Now we are submitting changes to the presidential decree so that medicines and medical products produced in Russia are subject to sanctions. So that those medicines that can still be purchased should be banned. This is a political decision of the ministry. We are waiting for a decision from the president and the government,” she emphasized.
When asked what percentage of purchases now comes from Russia, Suprun replied:
“Government procurement – 0%. All our government procurement goes through international organizations. Firstly, they require compliance with WHO qualifications, and most Russian drugs are not qualified. Secondly, Russian manufacturers themselves do not enter into open tenders. How many of their drugs are still registered in Ukraine? A lot of. But I do not allow re-registration or new registration of drugs produced or even packaged and transported from Russia.”
