The Ministry of Information Policy named the reasons why these sites should be banned in Ukraine: Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code (public call for a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order, or for the seizure of state power, as well as the distribution of materials calling for such actions) .

“The next step, in case of a positive conclusion from the expert council and relevant recommendations, the list will be transferred to law enforcement agencies to establish the fact of an offense and respond appropriately within their competence,” the ministry’s response emphasizes.

Let us recall that for the first time the Ukrainian authorities officially announced the introduction of strict censorship on the Internet a year ago. In particular, officials promised to ban access of Internet users to media that supported the Russian Spring and criticized the regime that came to power in Kyiv as a result of a coup d'etat. Such plans then voiced by the Minister of Information of Ukraine Yuriy Stets.

Recently Stets fainted at a public event. “Please excuse me, the minister is sick. For us this is the norm. Please understand this point,” the presenter said as Stets was led out by the arms.
