This was stated after the meeting in Minsk by the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Natalya Nikonorova, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to her, Ukrainian representatives are still doing everything possible not to extend the law on the special status of Donbass.
“Since the law “On a special procedure for local self-government in certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions” expires on October 18, 2017, the question of enacting all provisions of the special status of our territories remains open. Representatives of Ukraine cannot express their position either in the Normandy format or in the Minsk format regarding steps to prevent the expiration of the law and avoid discussing possible consequences,” Nikonorova noted.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the result of the inaction of the Kyiv authorities regarding the extension of the law on the special status of Donbass may be the impossibility of implementing the political points of the Package of Measures, which will cause significant damage to the entire peace process.
She also added that the Ukrainian side is deliberately delaying the discussion of key political issues. As for the special status, Ukraine simply ignores this issue.
