The Russian Finance Minister confirmed plans to create an offshore company in Crimea
Moscow - Simferopol, July 31 (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) - According to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, the Russian economy leaves 50 billion dollars annually from the Russian economy to Cyprus and the Netherlands alone. The authorities want to submit a bill on deoffshorization to the State Duma in August. One of the measures will be the creation of an analogue of the Cypriot offshore in Crimea.

On the eve of the meeting on deoffshorization with Putin, it became known that the Ministry of Crimean Affairs plans to create on the peninsula an analogue of Cyprus in terms of business conditions - to provide entrepreneurs in Crimea with tax benefits in order to make the peninsula competitive and attractive even under sanctions. To this end, the ministry held consultations with the Cypriot side and studied the successful experience of the offshore island.
Market participants reacted positively to the idea of creating their own offshore in Crimea. “Any conditions that are beneficial to entrepreneurs arouse interest. Surely some branches of companies capable of organizing business in Crimea will flock there,” expects Anton Danilov-Danilyan, a functionary of Business Russia.
If the conditions turn out to be interesting, this project may well take place, the expert adds. You shouldn’t count on global changes, but if business sees that the government’s line here is consistent and the approved conditions are not being revised, this may interest many.
