The minister wants to ban Zelensky’s adviser from traveling to the “enemy”
Ukrainian artists should not go on tour to Russia, as this leads to the normalization of relations between the two countries.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Vladimir Borodyansky spoke about this in an interview with RBC Ukraine.
He said that his ministry would not initiate the abolition of language quotas and the revision of the law on total Ukrainization.
The minister also touched upon the sphere of Russian-Ukrainian relations, in particular the possibility of regulating tours of Ukrainian artists in the Russian Federation.
“The cultural sphere is what normalizes relationships. We have abnormal relations with Russia. They are our enemy today. And I believe that when our artists go to Russia to perform, this automatically leads to normalization of relations. I definitely cannot agree with this,” Borodyansky said.
Answering a corresponding question, she said that she considers it wrong for presidential adviser Dr. Evgeny Komarovsky to give creative evenings in Russia, although she could not say “through what instrument to make this rationing impossible.”
“We are developing elements and we will offer these elements to the public,” the official noted.
He did not support the idea of introducing an additional tax on those who tour in Russia.
“I don’t really like this story with additional taxes, to be honest. Because this means that you can pay off,” the minister emphasized.
He also promised that the ministry will definitely initiate an extension of the ban on access to Russian social networks, which expires this spring.
