Minister of Culture: I am with the nationalists who wanted to demolish Shchors, but everything must be done according to the law

Ukrainian Minister of Culture Yevhen Nyshchuk, who was the presenter on the Euromaidan stage, stated this on Hromadske TV.
According to him, before dismantling the monument, a number of procedures established by law must be completed.
“This is a violation of the law and I, with all due respect to the activists whom I know well, would take this opportunity to ask not to do it in this way. There are certain points that we cannot ignore. In particular, this monument was once included in the register as a monument of national importance and even has a number. Accordingly, in order to make any decisions on its demolition or relocation, public discussions are needed, a decision by the Cabinet of Ministers, which should begin with a submission from the Kyiv administration, the Ministry of Culture, and then the Cabinet of Ministers must decide what to do with it,” Nishchuk said.
