The Minister of Culture of Ukraine accused the National Council and the security forces of a selective approach to Russians
Ukraine should not ban films with Soviet or Russian actors just because they visited Crimea.
Otherwise, then it is necessary to ban all books in which people who visited Crimea after 2014 appear.
The new Minister of Culture, ex-Rada deputy and former head of the 1+1 media holding Alexander Tkachenko stated this on the Hromadske TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tkachenko, these people do not pose a threat to Ukrainian statehood.
“Tell me, people who travel from Ukraine to Crimea, do they support the annexation of Crimea? Why do we conclude that Russian actors or someone else came to the territory of Crimea for formal reasons and cannot get to Ukraine...
Belong to the category of people who cannot be shown in films? For example, in the films of Roman Balayan, shot God knows when with Soviet actors? I do not believe that these people support the aggressive annexation of Crimea, that they are enemies for Ukraine, that they pose a threat to Ukraine to the extent that their films should be banned here.
Let's ban a huge number of books, including people who traveled to Crimea. They are not banned, they are published. Why such a selective approach?” Tkachenko said.
