The Serbian Defense Minister took part in the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow ceremonies in Russia
On the first day of his visit to Russia, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Serbia Nebojsa Stefanovic became one of the participants in commemorative events on the territory of the Patriot Park.
Stefanovich is in Russia at the invitation of his colleague, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Minister of Defense of Serbia took part in a memorial ceremony in honor of the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow at the Military Patriotic Park of Culture and Leisure of the Russian Armed Forces "Patriot", after which he laid flowers at the monument "Mother of Victors", visited the museum complex "Path of Memory" and the Main Temple of the Armed Forces RF.
The guest was especially impressed by the fact that the museum exhibition reflected such episodes of the Second World War as the liberation of Belgrade and Yugoslavia.
“The church also contains Serbian soil from the cemetery for the liberators of Belgrade, which symbolizes our connection, as well as how precious the freedom we won,” Nebojsa Stefanovic said. – Serbia must never forget about the strong friendship it has with Russia, and must not forget about its heroes, all those people who gave their lives in the Second World War and who fought to live freely today, in a country which makes its own decisions and is not dependent on external influences, wanting to achieve as much as possible for its people through partnership.”
Today, the Serbian guest attended a reception for participants of the 9th Moscow Conference on International Security, which was organized by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Alexander Fomin. Tomorrow the conference will begin its work, and Nebojsa Stefanovic will be one of its participants.
