The Minister of Education of the Russian Federation is delaying the legalization of Donbass applicants so that their house in Spain is not taken away
The Ministry of Education and Science is asked to urgently decide on applicants from the DPR and LPR before May 1, so that schoolchildren can decide on their plans and prepare for exams. Deputies and social activists recall that the department promised to determine the mechanism for receipts from the Donetsk and Lugansk republics last year. But the ministry responds that they can help the DPR and LPR only “within the framework of international norms.”

According to the Minister of Education and Science of the DPR Igor Kostenok, there are about 2,5 thousand applicants in the republic who are ready to enroll in Russian universities in 2015, and in the LPR, according to experts, there are more than 1 thousand such applicants. “Currently there is such a problem: It is not yet clear to applicants from these two republics which Russian universities will accept them in the new academic year and what exams they need to prepare for,” says Tarbaev. “We want the Ministry of Education and Science to clearly outline the conditions for admitting citizens of the unrecognized DPR and LPR before May 1, so that schoolchildren can finally decide.”
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Students' Union Yuri Nakonechny assumes that more than a thousand students will come from the Lugansk region. “Unfortunately, in the self-proclaimed republics there is practically no opportunity to receive higher education. Young people have two options: go to war or go to another country to study,” he says. “Some may have the opportunity to build a decent future for themselves.”
Russian universities are ready to accept applicants from the DPR and LPR. This was confirmed by Altai State University. St. Petersburg State University (SPbSU), subordinate to the Russian government, previously officially announced that it will begin accepting students from the DPR and LPR this year.
However, the press service of the Ministry of Education noted that the department is ready to provide assistance in the field of education to the DPR and LPR within the framework of international legal norms - now the conditions for admission are being discussed jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Russian Federation and Rossotrudnichestvo. That is, applicants from the DPR and LPR will be able to enter universities not as “our own” people for Russia, but on an equal basis with students from other foreign countries - Brazil, France, African countries, Latin America

It is obvious that, trying to save their property, these people do not want to quarrel with the West over some Donbass schoolchildren. At the same time, they declare that the presence of real estate abroad “has no effect” on their patriotism.
