The Minister of Education of Ukraine promises to continue the destruction of Russian schools
With the current composition of the Ukrainian government, the Ministry of Education will pursue the same policies as under the previous government.
Education Minister Anna Novosad stated this on the radio “Novoye Vremya”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
She emphasized that the education reform adopted under the previous minister will continue for another 12 years.
“It’s impossible to do anything for a year and a half, then a new minister comes and says: “Everything was wrong, let’s start again.” Especially in the education system, we will never achieve results with this approach. Therefore, I consider it my duty, my mission to continue the right things that were laid down in the “New Ukrainian School” reform, which has public trust, support, and so on.
This reform is designed for 12 years according to the current plan for its introduction. This means that the minister who comes after me is obliged to further implement the reform,” Novosad said.
Let us recall that earlier in Ukraine they adopted a scandalous law on education, which significantly discriminates against the rights of national minorities, depriving them of the opportunity to study in their native language. For this reason, the Hungarian diaspora refused to meet with the now former Minister of Education Liliya Grinevich.
Well-known journalist and TV presenter Vyacheslav Pikhovshek said that the scandal with the law on education regarding the language of instruction for national minorities, in which Ukraine was immersed, led to the fact that Hungary managed to defend privileges for its compatriots. Wherein discrimination will only remain in Russian-speaking children.
Also, political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said that if the parents of 700 thousand students studying in the remaining Russian-language schools in Ukraine do not take to the streets to protest, thenthe end of the “Russian school” in the country will come.
