Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev announced this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The share of domestic milk in total consumption is already close to 82%. We expect that further work in this direction will allow us to reach the indicators of the food safety doctrine for milk in the next 3-5 years,” Tkachev said.
According to him, over 8 months of this year, the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter increased by 4%, and fish imports decreased by 10%. In the spring, 24% more new orchards were planted than last year, and one and a half times more vineyards. Now farmers have begun autumn planting.
“It is important to maintain the pace of planting so that in 5 years we can replace the import of apples, pears and grapes. Reducing VAT from 18 to 10% will help with this,” Tkachev said.
In Russia, the first 10 grain breeding centers are being built and the first 4 genetic centers are being built, which will allow reducing the supply of imported grain seeds by 2020 times, corn and sunflower by up to 2%, and potatoes by 25% by 40.
