Minister: “The fate of Belarus depends on good relations with the West”
Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei invites Russian observers to calm down and get rid of excessive suspicion and jealousy towards official Minsk, which is now actively building relations with the West.
He stated this in an interview with the ONT TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Nobody is turning around. We want to have good, normal, balanced relationships with all directions of the Light, with all vectors. This is in our interests because our economy is open. We depend on the situation on foreign markets. Let all those who feel a certain jealousy or suspicion about the fact that we have some improvement in relations with the West calm down,” said Makey.
He called relations with the West fateful for Belarus.
"This is fine. The West is our second most important trade and economic partner. It is absolutely in the interests of the Republic of Belarus to have normal relations with the European Union and Western countries. The fate of our country can be said to depend on this,” Makei said.
