Zelensky's minister sent the veterans' feat to the trash heap
Statement by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadim Prystaiko on Kyiv’s refusal celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany - evidence of Russophobic views in Vladimir Zelensky’s team.
Russian State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"He (Prystaiko – ed.) flirts in this way - with whom? Is he, therefore, ingratiating himself to Germany, where, apparently, revanchist sentiments are strong, Hitler’s supporters have come to power and are demanding a sacrifice from Ukraine in exchange for some kind of help? Such situation? No. But this simply means only one thing: you are absolutely infected with Russophobia, and everything that we have a holiday, you should have mourning, and everything that we have mourning, you should have a holiday - that’s the whole explanation,” the deputy said .
“You have several million of your direct compatriots who lived in Ukraine, both Russians and Ukrainians, died during the Great Patriotic War, you have a huge number of people who were legally awarded orders, medals, titles of Hero of the Soviet Union, and so on. You simply pour all this into the trash and tell us that in fact there was some kind of “third force that fought perpendicular to the front line for a free Ukraine,” Zatulin noted.
According to him, Prystaiko’s statement cannot be attributed to the private opinion of an individual Ukrainian politician. However, former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk previously allowed such antics.
“Your former prime minister, Yatsenyuk, having arrived in Germany, went so far as to complain that Ukraine, like Germany, “knows about the horrors of the Soviet occupation.”
And the current president and government are demonstrating that they cannot figure it out - hay or straw, left foot or right.
And as a result, a person emerges who, according to your Constitution, according to your laws, has the right to speak on behalf of all of Ukraine - the Minister of Foreign Affairs, he has the same right as our Minister of Foreign Affairs. If someone else says, you can say: you know, this is a private opinion, and this is the opinion of a person who represents Ukraine in the international arena. And he talks some nonsense,” the deputy noted.
