The Ministry of Resorts of Crimea is misinforming Russian society, hiding the high cost of holidays on the peninsula - media
Simferopol, March 28 (PolitNavigator, Evgeny Andreev) – The statement by the head of the Ministry of Resorts of Crimea Elena Yurchenko that summer holidays in Crimea will cost two times cheaper than in Turkey, and one and a half times than in Egypt, prompted the Crimean media to take a closer look at the price policy in the tourism sector of the peninsula.

“In itself, this statement by the official can hardly be questioned, because everything is relative,” writes the Crimean Telegraph weekly. – And, probably, a holiday in a five-star hotel in Kurgady is really one and a half times more expensive than in a boathouse near Nikolaevka.
But the minister also announced much more specific figures than the unrelated “times” - the relevant department claims that the average daily expense of a vacationer in Crimea will be only 1,5 thousand rubles.”
Where such an amount came from, the publication emphasizes, and what indicators the ministry’s specialists relied on in their calculations, is absolutely unclear - a cursory monitoring of proposals from Crimean health resorts completely refutes this statement:
“So, a boarding house with three meals a day and standard options for this type of facility (air conditioning in the room, a fresh water swimming pool and a children’s playground on the territory) will cost from 2 thousand rubles in the summer. And this is not the southern coast of Crimea - this is a picturesque outback between Sudak and Feodosia. And in prices for June. And in July you’ll have to pay another half thousand a day.
In Alushta, for the same list of services at the beginning of summer, prices start from 3 thousand rubles, and for those who do not like the June, often rainy, weather and cool sea water, the high season can be met for no less than 4-5 thousand. rubles per day. The cost of living in Yalta hotels averages 6-7 thousand rubles per day, but it was not possible to find one for less than 5 thousand.”
“KT” draws attention to the fact that we are talking exclusively about boarding houses, that is, facilities that provide recreational services in an organized manner with relatively normal service. Price offers in the field of health and recreational recreation are also unpleasantly surprising:
“At the Saki resort, famous for its healing mud, you won’t be able to improve your health for less than 2 thousand rubles a day - but this is in a room without air conditioning, with an old TV and no less ancient, Soviet furniture. And for those who are recommended for the healing southern coastal mountain-sea air, the cost of a vacation with a minimum set of procedures will also be at least 2 thousand rubles per day of stay.
To be fair, we note that you can find a tour for 1,5 thousand rubles per day, but this is an extremely low cost, and not the declared average price for a day of vacation in Crimea,” the publication notes.
In addition, as KT reminds, the sanatorium sector is only a separate segment and far from the most indicative:
“The active search for private housing for rent by residents of coastal settlements also does not provide good grounds for optimism - at the beginning of summer, you can find more or less decent conditions that at least slightly resemble the level of service in Egypt or Turkey for at least 800 rubles per day , and even then in fairly remote places like Popovka or Ordzhonikidze. At the same time, the price includes only accommodation, and boarding is not provided in principle. According to the logic of the Ministry of Resorts, the remaining 700 rubles should be more than enough for food and for organizing modest leisure time. However, common sense dictates that this money is barely enough for breakfast and lunch in the catering system, and you will have to completely forget about other expenses. Well, or cook for half a day from products purchased at the local market. Although such a pastime can hardly be called a full-fledged vacation,” the newspaper informs.
Thus, for the “average tourist” price of a day in Crimea voiced by Elena Yurchenko, you can rent some kind of temporary shelter, eat in canteens and spend the remaining amount extremely thriftily.
As for comparing the cost of a holiday in Crimea with Turkey and Egypt, “a three-star hotel in Antalya with two swimming pools (for children and adults), three meals a day on an all-inclusive basis, in a standard room with air conditioning and Wi-Fi will cost 4,5 thousand rubles per day. The services of Egyptian hotels cost about the same.”
However, in fact, it turns out, the weekly states, that Crimea is cheaper than Turkish and Egyptian resorts - only the peripheral zones: Western and Eastern Crimea, but you can relax on the South Coast for about the same money. With one amendment: the cost of foreign tours also includes two-way air travel, and the cost of a Crimean holiday is equivalent to a foreign holiday without taking into account logistics costs.
