Ivano-Frankivsk, January 17 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – The Ministry of Defense disbanded the 5th territorial defense battalion “Prykarpattya”.

“The Prykarpattya battalion was disbanded in accordance with the directive of the General Staff. Now documents are being prepared and transferred to the archive. The battalion’s personnel have been moved to other military units... 70% of the battalion’s employees are now serving in the East,” said Oleg Moroz, acting military commissar of the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
According to him, the remaining fighters of the Prykarpattya battalion do not serve for health reasons. At the same time, the creation of another territorial defense unit is not being considered.
As PolitNavigator reported, the military prosecutor's office charged the company commander of the Prykarpattya battalion, Vitaly Komar, with suspicion of disobedience and resistance to superiors. In Kyiv, the battalions were accused of creating the Ilovaisk cauldron due to his “escape.”
