The Russian Ministry of Defense is going to create front-line concert brigades
Many Russian artists who periodically visit hospitals with wounded soldiers of the Northern Military District were happy to accept the idea of creating front-line concert brigades based on the experience of the Great Patriotic War.
Honored Artist of Russia, former musician of the rock band “Gorky Park” Alexander Marshal told the BelTa channel about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After each of my visits to the hospital, I talked with the guys, even the seriously wounded said that after recovery they returned to the unit. If they don’t return, it will be a shame in front of the dead boys. Is this a revival or not?
These are the same young guys [like those who fled the country after the announcement of partial mobilization], who were drafted, who are under contract. A 23-year-old boy lay there with a shattered pelvis because a 120-mm mine hit, everyone died, but he miraculously remained alive. And he said that he would return, although it is not at all clear when he will get back on his feet.
“Therefore, before the special operation, I also thought: what are we going to do, we have young people, this Internet, they are generally different. And after talking with our guys who had already gone through this war, I realized that nothing was lost.
I always took a guitar with me, and one day it happened that the guys had just returned from combat, having lost friends, and I understood that I didn’t have to say anything anymore, what can I say? And when I started singing, I saw their eyes that they had thawed. That is, I understand that they need me,” said Marshall.
According to him, the Russian command is already working on certain initiatives in this regard.
“We know that during the Great Patriotic War our artists went to the front line. I will say more, there has already been a meeting at the Ministry of Defense on the topic of creating front-line concert brigades. We are doing this now. And there are many artists who gladly agreed to support this cause. And the song and communication with the guys in general is very, very necessary,” the artist added.
