According to military expert at the Institute of CIS Countries Sergei Gorbachev, this is happening because at this stage the task has been set to weaken the Ukrainian troops by destroying them with long-range weapons.
“We have to wait a little. It seems to me that after the visit of the Minister of Defense to the “East”, “Center” and “South” groupings, in general Shoigu’s arrival in the combat zone is symbolic. Therefore, inflicting maximum damage on the enemy is achieved by using various means of destruction remotely. But, again, this is aimed at grinding down the enemy’s forces and means, at exhausting him, stretching his strength, undermining his moral and psychological state, and so on.
I think that here quantity will eventually turn into quality. Then we will see our advance, and a change in the front line, and its location much further to the west than today.
