The Russian Ministry of Defense published a video of a torpedo duel at sea
The Russian Ministry of Defense published a video of a torpedo duel between the corvette Stoiky and the small anti-submarine ship Kalmykia in the Baltic Sea.
Combat units of the Baltic Fleet practiced actions during an attack and counterattack on a mock enemy ship.
Using hydroacoustic means, the corvette "Stoikiy" identified the threat, performed an anti-torpedo maneuver and fired a torpedo from the "Packet" complex in service with the ship.
According to objective control data, the shooting was successful, and the “enemy” torpedo from the Kalmykia, which threatened the corvette, was eliminated.
The anti-submarine complex "Package" is designed to destroy submarines and torpedoes in the near zone of the ship. It consists of a control system, a specialized hydroacoustic target designation station, launchers and small-sized torpedoes themselves in thermal anti-submarine and anti-torpedo versions.
The day before, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow was recording an increase in the military presence of the North Atlantic Alliance from the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea near the borders of the Russian Federation.
At the beginning of November, NATO maneuvers in the Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean were completed, where 45 thousand alliance troops took part, as well as tens of thousands of pieces of equipment. The exercises took place near the Russian border.
The day before, during a visit to Brussels, Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis called on NATO to strengthen air defense in the Baltic Sea region.
