Simferopol, August 26 (Navigator, Evgeny Andreev) – A battalion of the 39th separate railway brigade of the Southern Military District has been formed in the Crimean Federal District.

Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Dmitry Bulgakov told reporters about this on Tuesday.

According to him, the main tasks of the unit will be the restoration and technical coverage of sections of railways and bridges, as well as the construction of railways in the KFO.

“Railway troops have already begun laying new tracks and replacing worn-out structures of railway sections in Crimea,” the deputy minister noted.

The battalion will be stationed in Kerch.
