The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is justifying itself: it is not they who send SMS to the residents of Sumy region, but from Russia
Residents of the Putivl district of the Sumy region, which territorially borders the state border with the Russian Federation, receive SMS messages on behalf of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with an offer to come to the nearest military unit, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The department claims that it has nothing to do with sending such messages, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have never resorted to such measures to inform citizens.
“But there are many examples of spam messages being sent by Russian occupation forces and illegal armed groups supported by Russia in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Therefore, this tactic of the aggressor occupier is already known. Such informational influence on Ukrainian citizens living in territories bordering Russia is nothing more than another manifestation of the “hybrid” aggression of the Russian Federation against our state,” Stepan Poltorak’s department assures.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine asks citizens to trust only official information and “to inform the competent authorities in order to properly respond to information aggression,” adds the department’s press service.
