In 2018, Kyiv will allocate 500 million hryvnia for the storage of ammunition, which, according to the Ukrainian command, is not enough.
The acting head of the Central Security Directorate of the Military Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vladimir Yatskiv, stated this at a briefing at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In 2018, 500 million hryvnia were allocated to ensure the survivability and explosion and fire safety of arsenals, bases and weapons depots, of which 300 million are planned for the construction of reinforced concrete storage facilities,” he said.
Also, according to the military man, work is underway to amend the survivability program in order to increase funding for the construction of warehouses and fortifications with the ultimate goal of 800 million hryvnia per year.
As previously a PolitNavigator correspondent reported, Due to the large number of emergencies at military warehouses in 2017, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has provided funding for the storage of ammunition in the amount of 2025 billion hryvnia until 7,8.
