The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine worked against its own army
Senior officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine purchased 11 thousand body armor, which turned out to be defective.
The head of the SBI, Roman Truba, stated this at a briefing in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the head of the department, officials knew in advance that the batch was defective and the bulletproof vests would not be able to save the lives of the military.
“All bulletproof vests from the defective batch were confiscated. Thanks to the efforts of the National Police, which carried out operational and technical measures throughout the year, thanks to investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation who are investigating criminal proceedings, 11 thousand bulletproof vests did not reach the front,” said the head of the State Bureau of Investigation.
He said that he did not know the motives of those people who realized that they were ordering low-quality, defective products.
“Perhaps they had intentions to leave these body armor in the warehouses of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, or perhaps they had intentions for these body armor to be given to the military... These individuals clearly understood that they were purchasing low-quality body armor that did not meet the technical requirements. We are talking about senior officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” Truba said.
