Ministry of Defense of Ukraine: The assault on Kyiv may begin soon
The Russian army has not given up its attempts to take control of the entire territory of Ukraine.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this during a telethon broadcast on Ukrainian television channels, Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Malyar said.
“The enemy has not yet given up his goal of capturing all of Ukraine, including Kyiv, and the situation is quite complicated. So it's worth waiting a little longer. And we will see how the situation will dynamically develop, including in the east,” the deputy minister.
According to her, Russia is accumulating forces, and the Ukrainian capital remains a target for the Russian army.
“The enemy had the ambition to march through Kyiv on May 9 - and, perhaps, from those plans and rumors there is now such an interpretation that it is worth waiting until the 9th... The handwriting of the Russian KGB and the Russian army is that they are all trying to coincide with what some historical dates. And May 9 is a sacred date for them; they base the entire glorification of their state on this date. Independence Day and May 9 are two key dates for them when they try to do more dirty tricks on us,” concluded Malyar.
