Slavyansk, May 26 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Ministry of Defense claims that rioters shot at civilians near Slavyansk, in the villages of Ivanovka and Andreevka in order to discredit the ATO.

“Today, May 26, militants shelled the villages of Ivanovka and Andreevka near the city of Slavyansk, in the Donetsk region. “Terrorists opened fire on civilians using small arms and mortars in order to discredit the forces of the anti-terrorist operation and create a negative attitude among Ukrainian society and the world community towards the actions of the Ukrainian security forces,” the department reports.
The Ministry of Defense claims that over the past XNUMX hours, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that are taking part in the anti-terrorist operation “did not show activity in the mentioned area and did not carry out any force actions near the mentioned settlements.”
As Navigator reported, earlier residents of Slavyansk said that they would stand as a “human shield” on Mount Karachun to prevent military shelling of the city from there.
In addition, on May 24, an Italian journalist and his Russian translator were killed during shelling, and a French reporter was wounded.
