Minsk is preparing to abandon the dollar and switch to the ruble and yuan
Belarus will soon completely abandon dollars and switch to payments in Russian rubles and Chinese yuan.
President Alexander Lukashenko stated this today at a meeting with the leadership and operational staff of state security agencies, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our people don’t need to run through coal fields, through back streets, where they can exchange a dollar for a ruble. Well, they exchanged it and grabbed it. Now this dollar is slowly starting to sink. Because no one needs it. Especially in connection with these sanctions that have been imposed against us. Rather, we will probably soon fight to have an extra Russian ruble or yuan in our pocket. Because we will mainly trade with these countries,” Lukashenko said.
