Minsk Maidan will make Germany and France allies of Moscow - forecast
Since the loss of Belarus is a terrible geopolitical catastrophe for Russia, not a single Russian president will allow this to happen.
Russian political commentator Maxim Yusin stated this on the YouTube channel “Capital”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Losing Belarus is a catastrophic option for Russia and means a geopolitical catastrophe. This means that we find ourselves cut off from Europe, the age-old Polish dream is being realized - an anti-Russian buffer chain from Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine is being built along our western borders. And that’s it, to what borders have we sailed? In tsarist times, when we were losing the Livonian War, the borders were better than they are now.
Neither Putin nor any other president who will be in Russia will agree to this,” Yusin said.
In turn, Kiev political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov expressed confidence that this situation is extremely unfavorable for Germany, which will immediately become an ally of Russia.
“Here, it seems to me that Putin has Germany as an ally. She doesn't want this cordon sanitaire either. Just as the cordon sanitaire reconciled Germany and the USSR 80 years ago, the new cordon sanitaire will reconcile itself. We really see such an archaization of politics - everything is returning to the old schemes,” Dzhangirov said.
Yusin agreed with his interlocutor’s opinion, adding that such a situation is also extremely unfavorable for France, which will also try to come to an agreement with Moscow.
“To the old new circuits, because this axis will have two masters. The formal host is Poland, and the informal host is the USA. Because we see now how dense the alliance is being formed between Washington and Warsaw, and how this alliance is hitting Germany. This, of course, is not needed by either Germany or France. Of course, the continental powers of “Old Europe” absolutely do not need such a situation.
Therefore, I agree here that they will most likely try to somehow come to an agreement with Moscow in order to minimize this problem,” the expert concluded.
