The press service of the ministry reports this.
“The minister had a conversation with management and members of the government, to whom he informed about his decision. The reason for resignation is deteriorating health. There are no political or other motives,” commented Artem Bidenko, State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.
According to him, Stets is now on sick leave.
The functions of the acting minister of information policy are assigned to the first deputy minister, Crimean Tatar Emine Dzhaparova.
Stets was appointed Minister of Information Policy on December 2, 2014 – even before the official creation of the ministry itself. He retained this position both in the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk and in the Cabinet of Vladimir Groysman. During his work, the ministry acquired the meme “Ministry” and an association with Goebbels’ Nazi department - due to the similarity of working methods.
He became the second minister of the current government to announce his resignation after the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy Taras Kutovoy. Next, the resignation of Cabinet members must be accepted by the Verkhovna Rada.
