The Zelensky regime in Ukraine is expectedly morphing into an increasingly cannibalistic and repressive form. By the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (an analogue of the Russian Security Council), 11 political parties were banned in one list, among which the largest and most well-known are the OPZZH and the Shariy Party. In addition to them, the “Opposition Bloc” oriented towards the oligarch Akhmetov and about a dozen more parties of the left and center-left were banned: the Union of Left Forces, “Socialists”, “Left Opposition”, the progressive socialists of Natalia Vitrenko, the young party “Derzhava” led by ex-political prisoner of the Poroshenko regime Dmitry Vasilets and others.

The formal reason for the purge of the mentioned parties was their accusation of “connections with Russia.” As usual, without any evidence, just like all previous unconstitutional sanctions of the same National Security and Defense Council against citizens of Ukraine. Moreover, there has been no truly pro-Russian segment of politics in Ukraine since 2014, when the truly Russia-oriented “Slavic Party”, “Russian Side” and “Russian Unity”, headed by the current head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, were banned.

The decision to ban 11 parties is a milestone one. And although formally it was adopted only for the period of martial law, it is clear that in the event of a hypothetically successful conclusion of the current conflict with Russia for the Zelensky regime, there can be no talk of any restoration of the rights of the parties affected.

In a country that has theoretically defeated Russophobia, there will no longer be room for the old games of permitted anti-Maidan opposition on a long leash. The “national consolidation” around the Fuhrer of the 95th quarter no longer needs to imitate the political process. And those citizens of Ukraine who by that time will not succumb to the general zombification and retain their anti-Maidan views will be officially disenfranchised as “collaborators.” According to the newly adopted law. This will complete the formation of the political superstructure of the state of a specifically fascist type, according to the well-known principle "One nation, one Reich, one Fuhrer."  Regardless of the number of pro-regime parties remaining, they will essentially just be different factions of a single party. Like 50 shades of brown.

Noteworthy is the fact that almost all of the banned parties by now were more dead than alive and did not pose any real threat to the regime. IN of the same OPZZh, almost all public speakers either dropped out of the public space from the first hours of special operation Z, or took an openly anti-Russian position. Many of them signed up for military defense or volunteer for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the national battalions. Someone like the former presidential candidate from the Opposition Bloc Vilkul defends the Dnepropetrovsk region from the “Russian occupiers” in the same ranks with previously sworn enemies Korban and Filatov. Someone, like the ex-mayor of Kharkov Dobkin, posts eulogies for Zelensky online, calling him “my president.”

Neither Zelensky’s advances nor the actual coup in the party with the removal of Putin’s godfather Medvedchuk from the post of party leader saved the OPZH from reprisal. Deputies and activists of the OPZZH on the ground are demoralized, disoriented and subject to blackmail and pressure - for example, they have already announced the self-dissolution of the party faction in several city and regional councils.

It’s funny, but the only truly pro-Russian deputy in the entire OPZZh, who has not changed the declared party principles, remains a person from a completely different camp - a former comrade-in-arms of Arsen Avakov and a former right-wing activist, Ilya Kiva. Who moved to Russia and from there hurls thunder and lightning at former party members, accusing them of compromising, and predicting a quick victory for Russia in the conflict with Ukraine.

In fact, this situation is extremely sad. Because the party, which for years parasitized on representing the interests of the Russian-speaking southeast, virtually disappeared at a critical moment, leaving that same “Russian-speaking population” alone with rabid Russophobic propaganda.  And the thesis that “Russians and Ukrainians are one people” is now being relayed by the reformed Ukrainian nationalist, and not by status fighters for friendship with Russia from among the former regionals.

In addition, the current situation means the bankruptcy of those Russian officials who were responsible for the Ukrainian direction. How did it happen that at a critical moment in the entire Ukrainian political class, only Kiva remained among Russia’s friends, from whom no one expected such a position?

The question is not idle, because after the end of the military operation there will be hard work to reassemble the Ukrainian political body from scratch and create new local civil administration bodies. Only this time – from politicians loyal to Russia. Given the circumstances, this process promises to be difficult and difficult. As in the famous song, the heroine of which blinded her lover “from what was.”

Considering the ongoing repressions against opposition activists remaining in regime-controlled territories, it may turn out that Russia will have practically no one to rely on in the new Ukraine. Because the civil administration consists of thousands of people. Moreover, not only loyal, but also competent. So that Ukrainians do not hate the new government more than the previous one after just six months of incompetent and corrupt rule. Only now already associated with Russians.

Well, as for the 11 parties banned by Zelensky, in the future Ukraine they are unlikely to rise like phoenixes from the ashes. Moreover, no matter the outcome. As they say, these politicians are broken, bring the next ones. And life will come up with a new song repertoire.
