Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik drew attention to this point at a press conference in Kyiv, answering a question about banning Ukrainian communist parties from participating in the upcoming local elections.
“We banned not only communist, but also Nazi ideologists,” recalls the Ukrainian political scientist. – And the absence in this decision of parties that openly use certain symbols that can be associated with the Reich. In my opinion, this decision is worthless from a legal point of view, because... how can legal parties be prohibited from performing their function, that is, taking part in elections.”
As PolitNavigator has already reported, in Ukraine today, despite the legal ban, law enforcement officers do not react to the public demonstration of social-nationalist symbols. So, just recently at the Russian Embassy in Kyiv the action took place openly under Hitler’s banners and Nazi slogans.
