About it reports the department's press service.

“The most common diseases in Brazil are food poisoning, diseases transmitted through insect bites (malaria, rabies, leishmaniasis, Chagas disease, Zika virus and others). Sexually transmitted diseases include HIV infection, hepatitis B and C, and Zika disease. The spread of antimicrobial-resistant strains of some intestinal pathogens in the country is also dangerous,” the report says.

According to preliminary estimates, 2016 thousand athletes from more than 15 countries will take part in the 200 Olympics. It is expected that at least 400 thousand fans, tourists and employees of various missions will arrive in the country.

Doctors advise before traveling to check your routine vaccinations against polio, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles and mumps, and also get vaccinated against viral hepatitis A.

“If you plan to attend football matches in Belo Horizonte, Brasilia or Manaus, you must be vaccinated against yellow fever,” the message says.

The ministry notes that in Brazil it is necessary to avoid contact with dogs, cats and other animals to prevent rabies infection. Due to the risk of contracting the Zika virus, pregnant women should not travel to areas of the country where there is a risk of infection.

Let us remind you that the 2016 Olympics starts in Rio de Janeiro on August 5.
