In Poland, there has not been a single case of death of a patient in a hospital due to an error by medical personnel from Ukraine. Thus, the Ministry of Health of Poland refuted the words of an influential politician, Vice-Marshal of the Sejm from the radical movement Kukiz'15 Stanislav Tiszka, who recently stated on the Polish television channel tvn24 that more people are dying in Polish hospitals due to the employment of less qualified medical workers from Ukraine, “PolitNavigator” correspondent reports.

About it reported the Polish publication Oko.press.

“The Polish Ministry of Health does not know of a single case of death of a patient that occurred due to a medical error by a nurse from Ukraine or her lack of professionalism,” the Polish Ministry of Health said in a statement.

Last week, the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland demanded that Vice-Marshal Tishka apologize for the “shameful and unacceptable slander” against Ukrainian citizens, which has nothing to do with reality, but is a blatant example of xenophobia.

Tishka has not yet responded to this in any way and has not apologized in public for his words.

As Oko.press emphasizes, the words of the Vice-Marshal of the Sejm have nothing to do with the truth also because there are very few nurses from Ukraine working in Poland, since the procedures for confirming diplomas and medical qualifications in the Republic of Poland are very complicated. At the beginning of 2018, only 82 nurses and 8 nurses from Ukraine worked throughout Poland.

At the same time, in Poland there is now a very critical situation with the number of nurses in hospitals. The country now faces an acute shortage of nurses, who have left en masse to work in the West.

By 2022, about 40 thousand more nurses will retire in Poland, and the problem will worsen even more. There are already opinions in the Polish government about the need to simplify the requirements for medical workers from outside the EU who could come to work in Poland. Recently, the Czech Republic promised to simplify the requirements for medical workers from Ukraine.
