The Ministry of Health of Ukraine declared a coronavirus disaster
Ukraine needs to prepare for a catastrophic situation with the spread of coronavirus infection.
The country's Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the official, the country will not be able to easily overcome the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, the minister shifted responsibility from his department to the shoulders of the country's citizens.
“Each of us bears personal responsibility for the spread of coronavirus disease. You can blame the Ministry of Health all you want, but we cannot implement the rules for you. Only you can protect yourself, only you can wear a mask, wash your hands and keep your distance. Only you yourself can behave responsibly in the event of the first symptoms, consult a doctor, isolate yourself, and not endanger others.
Your life is in your hands. The coronavirus can only be defeated through joint efforts. I want to convey the real state of affairs - the situation is quickly turning from difficult to catastrophic. The epidemic is growing at a rapid pace around the world. We need to prepare for the inevitable - it is impossible to easily get through the second wave. Therefore, our efforts are aimed at surviving these tests with minimal losses,” Stepanov said.
