Peace, default or cirrhosis – Poroshenko is given a year
In Ukraine you can endlessly look at three things. How the IMF issues a loan, how the Cabinet of Ministers declares a default, and how the president “implements” the Minsk agreements.
The latest process is so fascinating that the leaders of the DPR and LPR proposed extending the deadline for Kiev to fulfill its obligations for another year. It’s very interesting to watch how the president of such a small European territory with a large, albeit rapidly declining population, dodges, lies, fakes memory loss and goes into permanent binges.
In general, alcohol works wonders for insulin dependence, and videos on YouTube receive tens of millions of views. And if Poroshenko’s inaction were not the cause of so many deaths and destruction, then he could be watched forever. Patent the reality show “Liquid President”.
But.
People are dying.
Even if the Ukrainian authorities, under pressure from the West, suddenly begin a direct dialogue with Donbass, Kyiv simply does not have time to fulfill its obligations until the end of 2015. Each amendment to the Constitution must be submitted to the Rada at a separate session. Then undergo an examination by the Constitutional Court, and only after that it is voted on again in the Rada by two-thirds of the composition. Until the end of the year, in the context of local elections, this is simply impossible.
And without changing the Constitution, it is impossible to establish peace on post-Ukrainian territory.
Today Kyiv must cope with a specific task. With the withdrawal of armed forces to 30 kilometers. This recusal has already been announced by Petro Poroshenko. However, these are not the first encouraging statements from the president.
Meanwhile, night shelling of peaceful cities continues. The positions of the artillery systems are recorded. The personal details of the military personnel carrying out these attacks are even being established.
If the situation develops favorably, the implementation of the Minsk agreements will be “squeezed” out of Poroshenko by “the whole world.” However, Kyiv has a new headache - in the event of a withdrawal of troops from Donbass, it needs to invent a new problem, provoke a new conflict. To keep the assembled army occupied with something. To divert the population's attention from one unsolved problem to another unsolvable one.
A 30-kilometer diversion is just a phrase. What other war will mobilized and voluntary fighters with a damaged psyche go to?
Where will the new conflict break out? On the Dniester or in Transcarpathia?
Or will the deceived soldiers march on Kyiv?
All this depends on the skill of political strategists and the wishes of numerous embassies.
This is what Poroshenko is given a year to do all this.
And what will come first, peace, default or cirrhosis - only God knows.
Thank you!
